Let’s see what is flower and bud fall. What are its causes and solutions?

Falling of Flowers and Buds:

Fruits and flowers are formed from the flower itself, and falling of flowers is a natural process. When the flower on the plant completes its life, it withers and falls, or like male flowers, their job is only to pollinate and produce fruit. No, this is also a part of the life cycle of the plant, there is no problem, the problem is when the flowers drop prematurely or the buds drop before the flowers open, this is called a flower bud dropping issue.

Reasons

There are many reasons for flower buds dropping and most of the times it can be due to our own fault or carelessness.

  1. Giving breakfast at the wrong time
  2. Giving fertilizer at the wrong time
  3. Irregularity in the water schedule, giving less or more water
  4. Roots Bounding
  5. Soil pH
  6. Deficiency or excess of nutrients
  7. Temperature
  8. Attack of insects and diseases on roots or shoots
  9. Pollination
  10. Deficiency of sunlight reduction or interruption of photosynthesis
  11. Children

1) Giving breakfast at the wrong time:

When the plants are budding, if they are dug deep and close to the trunk of the plant, this will damage the surface roots, which can lead to the problem of flower bud drop and re-emergence. Will focus on the roots because it is the roots that provide the plant with water and nutrients

2) Giving fertilizer at the wrong time:

Sayane has said that there is a right time for every work, right work done at wrong time is also wrong, the same is applicable in gardening.
When the plant starts flowering, if you give nitrogenous fertilizers, then the heat of one season, the heat of the nitrogenous fertilizer from above, what will the poor plant do, then this will happen.

3) Irregularity in the water schedule, giving less or more water:

Many plants are very sensitive to being treated like a small child if their feeding schedule is to be taken care of.
For example, the soil and floor of the pots are hot during the sun, so watering in the sun puts the plant under stress, or if the water is given more than necessary or if the water is given less or if the interval of watering is increased. Flower dropping can be an issue

4) Roots Bounding:

If the plant’s roots are too bound in the pot, in such a case the plant will not be able to take food properly and due to this there may be a problem of flower and bud drop. Similarly, some plants like roots bounding, they do mature flowering only when roots are bounded.

5) Soil pH:

For the health of the plant, the soil must be fertile and its pH must be in accordance with the needs of the plant. H likes it
If the pH of the soil is not in accordance with the plant’s needs, the plant cannot take nutrients from the soil properly and is not healthy, so an unhealthy plant can have problems with flowers and buds falling off.

6) Deficiency or excess of nutrients:

Just as in every aspect of life, moderation is necessary and excess is harmful, so there is a need to maintain moderation in the nutritional needs of plants. cannot get food properly and similarly if the soil is deficient in nutrients, the plants do not grow healthily and in both these cases there may be problems of flower and bud drop on the plants.

7) Temperature:

Temperature is also an important cause of flower and bud drop problem. Temperature too low or too high is also harmful to plants. We call it Haze in common language, due to which the plants may also have the problem of falling of flowers and buds.

8) Attack of insects and diseases on roots or shoots:

Plants are attacked by many insects and diseases. Some insects and diseases attack the plant, ie, the branches, shoots, and the bulbs. For example, millibug aphid and sap-sucking insects attack the bulb and suck its juice. It can cause flower and bud drop problem
And some insects and diseases attack plant roots in the soil, causing the plant to weaken and drop flowers and buds.

9) Pollination

The process of pollination is essential for a flower to become a fruit and a seed, while many plants are self-pollinated Many plants have male and female flowers, but male flowers are used for pollination and do not produce fruit.

The process of pollination is done by small pollinators such as bees and even by wind, but if the pollination is not done properly, the female flowers also fall without forming fruits.

10) Deficiency of sunlight reduction or interruption of photosynthesis:

Photosynthesis is the process in which a plant produces its own food as well as making buds to produce flowers from buds and fruits from flowers to seeds. If found, even in such a case, the buds will not come at first, they will fall before they bloom.
Two suns are essential for flowering and fruit plants, even if they don’t get enough sun, flower and bud dropping can be an issue.

11) Children:

These are very dangerous invasive creatures, if your plant is attacked by them, there may be a problem of dropping flowers and buds along with the shoots, but the whole plant will die.

REMEDIES

Let us now talk about the remedy of these problems. All these points are a complete topic in themselves and if I go into the details of each one, then the post will become very thick, so I will try to explain briefly.

  • Giving Godai at the wrong time
  • Giving Fertilizer at the wrong time
  • Irregularity in the water schedule, giving less or more water
  • Roots Bounding
  • Soil fertility and PH
  • Deficiency or excess of nutrients
  • Temperature
  • Attack of insects and diseases on roots or shoots
  • Pollination
  • Deficiency of sunlight, reduction or interruption of photosynthesis

1) Giving Godai at the wrong time:

When the plants are coming to the buds, if at that time do not dig deep and close to the trunk of the plant, if you have to, do it away from the trunk and avoid deep digging.

2) Giving fertilizer at the wrong time:

Reduce fertilizer application in extreme cold and extreme heat
When the plant starts flowering, it needs more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers than nitrogen fertilizers. You can also buy chemical fertilizers. The results of chemical fertilizers are faster and more obvious than organic fertilizers, but the quantity should be taken care of.
And if you want to use organic means organic, then you can use banana peels, potato peels and mango peels by making a liquid or making a powder.
But some care must be taken in their use, otherwise they can attract fungi and insects.

3) Irregularity in the water schedule, giving less or more water:

It is important to take special care while watering the plants. Never water the plants in the sun. Whenever you have to water, it is best to water it first thing in the morning after taking a bath or in the evening after the sun sets.
Check the soil before watering. If the soil is moist, do not water more. If the soil is dry up to an inch, water only.
Also, don’t shower plants in the sun

4) Roots Bounding:

In terms of root binding, you should know about your plot whether the plant likes root binding or not. I plant it so that its roots can be bonded, but I must be careful that if the roots are bound too much, then the plant may die, so I have been checking from time to time that the roots have not been bound too much. You will also be able to gauge this from the growth of the plant or if a plant has been in the same pot for a long time or the roots start coming out of its drainage hole, then on this point shift it to a bigger pot. Or prune its roots, but keeping in mind the weather, do not do this in summer

5) Soil fertility and PH:

The pH of the soil will be as per the requirement of the plant and the plant will meet its nutritional requirements, then there will be no issue of dropping of flowers and buds, Inshallah.
For this you need to be fully aware of the requirements of your plant and what type of soil it likes. Find out and add nutrients as needed and maintain the pH of the soil as per the needs of the plant
Even if a pH meter is not available, even if you have information about the plant, you can get an idea by looking at its growth. Take some soil in two glass glasses and add a little water in it, then add a spoonful of vinegar in one glass and a little about one spoonful of baking soda, also known as sweet or food soda, in the other glass, then keep it for some time. Wait for the reaction
If the vinegar glass bubbles, it means the soil is alkaline, and if the baking soda glass bubbles, the soil is acidic, and if there is nothing in the glass, the soil is plain, not acidic. And neither is alkaline.

6) Deficiency or excess of nutrients:

Even if the balance of nutrients is kept in the plants, the issue of flower and bud dropping can be avoided or reduced.

7) Temperature

Build a poly house or cover with polythene sheet to protect from extreme cold.

In severe heat, if the plants are planted in the ground or kept on raw land, then it can be done by putting a green net on top of them, and if they are kept on the roof of the house, then you can protect them from the heat. will have to take some special measures, first of all they have to put a green net on top of them, but that is not enough because the heat on the top of the roof is very intense and the heat of the sun is also very high, due to which The floor gets hot and the pots and their soil get hot too. Do not place the pots directly on the floor, but place them on a Thermopol sheet. If not, lay thick cardboard on it so that the heat of the floor does not reach the roots. Mulch the soil at least three to four inches thick. Place plants together to create a tropical environment.

8) Attack of insects and diseases on roots or shoots:

On a healthy plant protected from disease and insect attacks, usually the problem of flower and bud dropping is not serious and a little too much is normal.
To avoid this problem, regular spraying of organic pesticide should be done on the plants. It should be noted that the organic pesticide spray is effective in preventing the attack of insects, but if the plants are attacked by insects. So in that case it is not a very effective method, in that case chemical pesticide spray on plants is more effective if you don’t want to use chemical pesticide then you can use neem oil and liquid dishwashing liquid pesticide Or wash the plants regularly with plain water and then wash them with plain water, but remember to do all this in the evening and wash the plants with plain water in the morning.
Root disease and insect infestation can be a problem with fungi and termites. There are many drugs available in the market for this. If there is a problem of termites and insects, dissolve 1 teaspoon of kerosene oil in water and give it twice a month. You can also use turmeric and cinnamon powder or mix neem leaves with water. After boiling this water can be given to the plants after cooling
The smell of turmeric and cinnamon and the bitterness of the neem water will make them run away by making their teeth not sour, but if there is a serious termite problem, then it is better to use chemicals because organic remedies are usually more effective. They act to repel insects with their kisses and not to destroy or kill them. This work can only be done with the help of chemicals.
Although chemicals give faster and better results today, the use of chemicals is not inevitable. I myself have never used any chemicals and my plants are still healthy.

9) Pollination:

If the process of pollination is not done naturally, then manual pollination can be done.

10) Deficiency of sunlight, reduction or interruption of photosynthesis:

The plants should be provided with sunlight as per their requirement so that the process of photosynthesis is done properly and the issue of flower and bud dropping can be reduced.
